What is Delta 8?

Delta 8 is a type of cannabis product that exists in the space between marijuana and CBD. While it has similarities to both, it is its own product.

The product is a derivative of hemp. Delta 8 itself is what happens when the THC in legally usable THC is converted to Delta 8. Unlike CBD, Delta 8 is reported to actually make people feel a degree of intoxication. It is not quite as intense as marijuana, but users do report a mild euphoria and a change in perception of reality. A variety of anecdotal reports exist about the effects of the substance, with users reporting this type of high. For example, one user reports feeling energized and able to conduct more work. Others have said it helps them feel less anxious and that it reduces pain and anxiety.

Delta 8 exists in an interesting legal space between marijuana and hemp. It is currently legal at the federal level – or at least it isn’t illegal. However, thus far, many states have banned Delta-8, with more following, arguing that it is essentially a drug. Furthermore, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration has proposed banning Delta 8, so how long the product is on the market may be in the air. However, for the moment, unless you live in a state in which Delta 8 has been banned, its purchase, use, and transportation are perfectly legal.

Like CBD products, Delta 8 is available in many forms. These include edibles like gummies, vape cartridges, tinctures, and smokable rocks.

Virtue signaling in a neighborhood with zero ethnic influence? Writing on the front door says it all, lol!
No carrot juice, in a health food store, really? Poor variety of homeopathic remedies.
Front door was amusing, almost worth the 25 mile drive.

I should preface this review immediately by saying I believe myself to be at the fringe of the target demographic for this grocery. All my life I've never paid significant attention to organic or all natural foods, health supplements, probiotics, the wealth of herbs, oils, and healthy offerings presented.

However after a health scare last January, I've become a budding amateur cook who prepares all meals from scratch (only eaten out 4 times since). My desire to explore new dishes and flavors has expanded beyond what the traditional grocery store has to offer. Specifically, fresh herbs, spices and bulk grains - which the Columbia Reddit suggested Clovers would be excellent for.

They were correct.

Their selection was impressive, and I found many rare things I had considered only available online - including zero sodium baking soda and powder. Spices like sumac, za'atar, mint, harissa and raw ginger root in addition to more common fresh spices in bulk. I kind of went crazy to be honest. It was the best smelling grocery bag ever.

Their grains and bulk bins were impressive, with various types of flours, rices, barleys, lentils, all things I haven't found at larger stores. I wandered the rest of the store of course, and found several items of interest like locally made honey, produce and dairy. They also have an interesting side section full of books on healthy living, cooking, and supplements.

The store itself was clean, well organized, the staff polite and quick to ask if I needed help finding anything. Prices seemed very reasonable, though it may be a little higher than you'd find at bulk stores because of their organic or all natural nature. Parking was easy out front, with handicapped spots right at the door. If you're into healthy eating, Clovers should definitely be a stop in your grocery shopping.

Nice to have natural market in town. Had a few sections including books (eh.. a bit of pseudoscience but what do you expect, it's a natural market). Good place to buy dried snacks.
